Farmers marched in Delhi to-No confidence in Modi Government
Farmers marched in Delhi from all over the country. They backed the opposition’s no-confidence vote. This was propagated their agitation caused the government’s inaction. Two farmer-friendly bills were supposed to be introduced in Friday’s Lok Sabha session. Their delay was what caused the farmers to rally.
The procession was organized All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee(AIKSCC). The farmers marched in Delhi and carried black flags and went from Mandi House to Parliament Street in central Delhi. They demanded a minimum support price of 50 per cent above the cost of production. The government denies this statement saying that the demand has already been met.
BJP leader Rajnath Singh said in Parliament, “No government tried to enhance farm incomes. This government has enhanced farm incomes,” He also added, “You can argue whether farm income can be doubled 2022 or not, but nobody can doubt the intent of our PM,”
The leaders of the protest further denied it. Farmers marched in Delhi and said the government’s new MSP only offers 50 percent above partial cost of production. The cost of owning land, or not renting it out, is not included in the government’s estimates. “The government should not just look at farmer losses, we cannot afford to educate our future generations, who is evaluating the losses from that,” said 65-year-old Rajkumar, a farmer from Meerut.
The farmers have promised to host a massive march in Delhi on 30th November, like as was held in Mumbai. “We have hope. If they give it or not is another matter, but we come with full hope. We have been coming with hope since a long time, we are here now, and we will keep coming.” said 45-year-old Phoolchand, a farmer from Pilibhit.
Modi government has continuously stated that they intend to support farmers and is the only government that has worked selflessly in order to aid the farmers of India.
