WhatsApp Update: Now Users Can Download All the Data They Share With the App

WhatsApp is now coming with some new and exciting features to survive in the latest trending market for social media apps. This time Whatsapp has come up with amazing features that make possible for users to download data from the app.

WhatsApp is now bringing some valuable changes to its Terms of Service and Privacy Policy exactly before a month left for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to come into effect in Europe. A BlogSpot WhatsApp said, “We are not asking for new rights to collect personal information with this update. Our goal is simply to explain how we use and protect the limited information we have about you.” GDPR comes into effect in Europe on May 25.

There are major 2 changes which will take place. For European Union, the minimum age for signing up on WhatsApp is now 16 years from 13. Second is a very important feature which allows users to download all the data they share with WhatsApp. This will take few weeks to come into effect to all WhatsApp users.  To make everything safe and secure they also provide webpage tips to users.

WhatsApp does not store any messages or file. Even call logs are not stored in its files.

Whether user was online or offline at that point

IP address last connected from (saved for diagnostic purposes)

Phone type

Profile photo

Phone numbers you upload without the names

List of groups you are in

Terms of service accepted

Blocked users

Apart from all this, the blog suggested blocking the users from WhatsApp & Facebook, who are sending Spam and abusive content. They aimed to provide user safety sharing tips on their new page, which will come live on May 25.
