Sanjay Raut openly threatens Ram Temple construction protesters
He said, “We demolished Babri in 17 minutes, how much time will it take to enact a law (on the construction of the temple)? From Rashtrapati Bhavan to UP it is BJP’s government. In Rajya Sabha, there are a lot of members who will stand with (the issue) of Ram temple. Whosoever stands in its way, will not be able to roam freely in the country.” This was referring to the demolition of the mosque in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992.
This comment came two days before a large gathering. ‘Dharam Sabha’ was organised various Hindutva groups. It was scheduled to take place in Ayodhya to further intensify the construction of the temple.
The Shiv Sena had asked the BJP government to come out with an ordinance and declare the date for the Ram Temple construction protesters in Ayodhya.
Shiv Sena slammed the BJP. While doing so, they said that those in power should be proud of Shiv Sainiks who had ” destroyed Babur’s raj in Ram Janmabhoomi.” The Babri Masjid was built in Ayodhya on the orders of Mughal emperor Babur.
Ram Temple construction protesters, In an editorial in party mouthpiece ‘Saamna’, the Sena said it neither moves around with a begging bowl asking for votes in the name of Lord Ram nor does it indulge in “jumlebaazi” (rhetoric) during polls.
It claimed that the party did not give the slogan “Chalo Ayodhya”, but Shiv Sainiks were going there for Lord Ram’s darshan and also because Ayodhya is “nobody’s private place”.
The issue of the Ram Temple has led to quite a controversy. Is issuing an open threat justified? What do you think?
