Pro Kabaddi 2018 Match 16: Puneri Paltan versus Haryana Steelers
The sixteenth match of Pro Kabaddi 2018 was between the Haryana Steelers and Puneri Paltan. In this underwhelming match, the Steelers demonstrated poor form. It was probably due to the absence of Surender Nada. They lost this match with a final score of 27-45.
Since the departure of Nada, the Steelers have been struggling with their defence. This was the case in most matches apart from Kuldeep Singh’s debut match. But in the last couple of matches, the defenders have failed to perform. Kuldeep gave away easy points to the Pune raiders.
The only ones to leave an impression on the game from the Steelers’ side were Vikas Kandola and captain, Monu Goyat. They scored 11 and 8 points, respectively.
Similarities can now be found in the track records of the Steelers and the UP Yoddhas. Their raiders are performing well. Their defenders are holding them back. This Pro Kabaddi 2018 match was almost one-sided.
Puneri Paltan, on the other hand, displayed perfect offence and defence. There was an equal contribution of both the aspects to the final score. The attacking initiative racked up 20 points. This was primarily due to the efforts of Nitin Tomar. He scored 10 points. Rajesh Mondal also shined with 7 points to his name. The defensive side was led the captain, Girish Ernak. They scored a magnificent 16 tackle points.
The star of the match was Akshay Jadhav. He scored a total of 8 points. This was done with 2 raid and 6 tackle points. Girish Ernak scored another High-5 with 5 tackle points. Sandeep Narwal also contributed with 2 tackle points.
An interesting thing to notice was Girish’s change in position. He gave up his left-corner position to Akshay and took up the weaker cover side position. This shows what a senior player should be like. One to adapt and provide opportunities to the youngsters.
