According to a report of 2017, there are more than 11000 Ganesha in the whole Mumbai, which signifies the importance of this festival in Mumbai. They contain big mandaps and mandals in Mumbai, which is owned some MLAs or social organisation to celebrate the love for Ganesh on Ganesh Chaturthi. With help of attractive decoration and colorful light, they add some outstanding beauty to the idol of Ganesha.

Many big mandals have initiated to use the idol made from fibre and clay so that they do not harm the environment. With the help of such initiative, we hope this Ganesh Chaturthi will be less harmful for the environment. They also started using dholaks and other instrument instead of High class DJs so that they reduce the effect of noise pollution.
