Don’t be afraid of taking an initiative due to the fear of criticism
Whenever you take an initiative or do something you have been putting on hold for a long time, some people will try to pull your leg. They will laugh at you. They will make the fun of your initiative. They will criticize your work even without knowing its immense possibility. They will try to demoralize you, saying that what you have decided to do is nothing but a piece of crap. This is the fear of criticism.
All this could have a considerable effect on your mind since the opinions of other people to play some or other role in determining human actions. So much so that, at times, you may even question your own intention or potential. Some words may be so toxic that they may even break your hopes. The ideas of quitting may cross your mind. And finally, once their taunts and comments become so recurring that you may even give up the whole idea as all.
But before you ever think of giving up something that you are really passionate about just because of the people’s criticism. Ask yourself for a while why you started in the first place. If you are sure that what you are doing is right, with the positive intention and utmost honesty; then you may regret the decision of closing that chapter.
Well, I have moved one step further. There are many people who don’t let their inner voice and potential come out open in the public due to the fear of criticism. Their talent and aspirations remain buried inside their hearts, like the seeds in the barren land.
People will always say something. Don’t let their own opinion delimit your territory of exploration. Don’t let the voice of your inner conscious be died down the noise of their criticism. Use their sarcastic comments and discouraging words as fuel to boost your strength and conviction. Keep trying, keep experimenting. You will find a way out on your own. You will fail, but don’t let your failure define you. If you fail, pick yourself up again. And keep moving.
