What many choose to ignore is the fact that he did his undergraduate and postgraduate course from the prestigious Institute of St. Stephens and has pursued an advanced financial management course from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He received his development banking and institutional credit from the National Institute of Bank Management.
Shaktikanth Das the RBI governor is an IAS officer from 1980 batch of the Tamil Nadu cadre and has served as the Economic Affairs Secretary of India as well as the Revenue Secretary of India as well as the Fertilizers Secretary of India and his experience makes him quite a desirable candidate for the people who selected the governor of the Reserve Bank of India.
Our new RBI governor has not been idle even after his retirement. It was after his retirement that his experience and work earned him an appointment to the fifteenth Finance Commission and as India’s Sherpa to the G20.
