Kartarpur Ceremony : Imran Khan talks peace, silent on terrorism
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan talks peace on Wednesday and said that he wanted to foster a strong relationship with India. He said that he was ready to take two steps forward if New Delhi took one.
Speaking at the ceremony to lay the foundation for Jartarpur corridor on the Pakistan side, Imran Khan talks peace and said, “If France and Germany who fought several wars can live in peace, why not India and Pakistan.”

Imran said that Pakistan wanted a civilised relationship with India and claimed that teh civillian and military leadership in Islamabad were on the same same page on the issue.
Imran Khan said, “I, the Prime Minister, the political party, the rest of our political parties, our army, all our institutions are all on one page. Imran Khan talks peace and want to move forward.”
However, after the honeyed words, silcence followed regarding the topic of terrorism. Terrorism is the main issue that has derailed the dialogue between the neighbouring countries. But that important issue was not discussed as all. External affairs minister, Sushma Swaraj, earlier today, made it very clear that there will be no dialogue with Pakistan unless it desists from terrorist activities against India.
She said at a press conference “Unless and until Pakistan stops terrrorist activities in India there will be no dialogue and we will not participate in SAARC.” India has also made it clear that the Kartarpur initiative could not be linked to talks between the countries.
Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, who attended the ceremony said, “The mistrust between India and Pakistan can be removed through revisiting the message of peace and love.”
Speaking on the occassion, Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu said, violence must be stoped and peace should be restored between India and Pakistan.
