Hearing on Ram Mandir Case adjourned

The Supreme Court of India commenced a hearing on Ram Mandir Case on twenty-ninth October this year and in a twist, shattered all expectations of a verdict and adjourned the hearing on Ram Mandir Case until January 2019.

This decision of the Supreme Court baffled many especially as it had promised that the hearing would be fast-tracked. This is one of the most iconic cases of India and has been before the judicial for a very long time now with the first civil suit in the matter dating way back to 1885.

A long legal battle has been fought and one after the other hearing on Ram Mandir Case later, no resolution seems visible in near sight. The Ram Mandir holds strong sentimental, cultural and religious values for millions of Hindus who are viewing this deliberate delay the Judiciary as a willful offence to their sentiments. It is also the opinion of many that an ordinance is the only way for any step that can be taken towards the Ram Mandir and that the government must stand true to its promise made during the campaign and act accordingly.

Why is the adjournment of the hearing on Ram Mandir Case significant to BJP?

According to experts, there cannot be a more opportune moment to opt for an ordinance. The triple talaq ordinance was appreciated and supported and set precedence for the government to take the same route with the long drawn issue of Ram Mandir.

After the adjournment of the hearing on Ram Mandir Case, if BJP brings it up in an ordinance then it would be a huge point in favour of the party n upcoming 2019 general elections. This is further aggravated the fact that the spiritual leaders of Ayodhya have made it crystal clear that BJP cannot expect their support if the promise to construct Ram Mandir is not fulfilled.

The adjournment of hearing on Ram Mandir Case has thus set into motion a series o events that will determine the future of a nation.
