Sindhu v Saina – who is the flagbearer of badminton in India?
India is emerging day day in the field of sports as compared to the old era. If we talk about badminton in sports, India has two Lady Lucks for badminton. One is a star and another one is a rising star. The two invaluable gems for badminton in India are P.v Sindhu and Saina Nehwal. It will be wrong if we compare who is best or who is good for them; both are masters in their field. A short comparison is made below on the basis of their performance at many national and international championships.
(Note: Please note that three top badminton events have been taken into consideration for the purpose of this discussion. First is the World Championships, Second is the Olympics and the third one is the All England Open)
P.V Sindhu :-
In an early age, P.V Sindhu achieved a great success. While talking about her career in Badminton, before RIO Olympics, irregularity is the thing that was associated with P.V Sindhu. There was never any doubt over her ability to play on the senior stage and challenge the best, but what she couldn’t do more regularly was beating the players at or below her level.
Prior to RIO Olympics, P.V Sindhu shown a great hard work and a winning energy, he was totally converted from irregular to a consistent player. Her newfound consistency proved to be a success mark. She had defeated all the below players and also shine as a winner Soul when she beat three top 10 players back-to-back and won a silver medal.
In 2013, P.V Sindhu claimed a bronze medal in The World Championship. She was climbing every milestone of success day day.

Saina Nehwal :-
If cricket has Virat Kohli, then Badminton has Saina Nehwal to inspire the young generation. We have seen that Pullela Gopichand was the inspiration for many people and Saina Nehwal is taking that legacy further.
Saina spotted to be in limelight in 2008. When she reached Quarter Final for Beijing Olympics, before that no one knows Saina Nehwal. After four years, she became the first Indian to win a medal at London Olympics. People started chanting her name and from that day India witnessed the real glory of badminton. The World Championship proves to be a little disappointing for Saina on account of constantly failing in the 3rd Round for several years. Finally, the sun shines and she wins a silver medal defeating Carolina Marin in the final.
While, 2015 also seems to be a great year for the Lady Luck, as she claims the first Indian women’s singles to reach the finals at All England Championship. Saina Nehwal’s journey depicts the flavor of achievements and victory.

Conclusion –
it is very hard to conclude anyone name from the two. One is a pioneer and the other one is a great inspiration for badminton lovers. But if we compare All England Championship, this is the only championship, where Saina was ahead of P.V Sindhu. If we compare further, P.V Sindhu has reached a maximum of 9th ranking, while Saina is on 1st rank last year.
So, from the above scenario, we can say that Saina Nehwal proves to be a queen of Badminton as well as a flagbearer of badminton in India.
