23 Indian passports missing from Pakistan High Commission
Allegedly, 23 Indian passports have been reported missing from the Pakistan High Commission. This has led to security scare here. The passports belonged to Sikh pilgrims who wanted to visit gurudwaras in Pakistan. This includes Kartarpur Sahib. Last month, a religious corridor was held the Pakistani government in that location.

Several of the passport holders have filed an FIR with the police. This matter was brought to the notice of the ministry of external affairs. The ministry has now moved to revoke all missing 23 Indian passports. This issue has been taken up the Pakistani mission. Pakistan had issued visas to over 3800 Indian Sikh pilgrims. This was done to allow them to participate in the 549th birth anniversary celebration of Guru Nanak from November 21st to November 30th.
The 23 Skihs who have lost their passports had sought visas and were supposed to travel with that group. Pakistan has denied that any of its officials were responsible for the missing passports.
All the missing 23 Indian passports had been collected a Delhi-based agent. He claimed that he had submitted the documents to the Pakistan High Commission. He later told the Indian authorities that when he returned to the High Commission to collect the passports, he was told Pakistan officials that they didn’t have the documents.
An official source said, “This is a serious issue and we have taken all necessary action to prevent any misuse of these passports.”
The outcome of this mystery will surely add another layer to the already complex Kartarpur story. Pakistan has said time and again that its decision to open the Kartarpur corridor was solely based on the fulfilment of the Sink desire while looking at their sentiments.
The missing 23 Indian passports have given way to an issue of national security. Was it Pakistan’s negligence or is there some other ulterior motive?
