Remembering the good old school days.

‘If I had a Time Machine, I would go back to school days” Said MS Dhoni once in an interview. I think most of you would agree with his statement. After all, who doesn’t like to go back to the school days? Except those who couldn’t enjoy the school life due to some or other reason. There shouldn’t be any denial in accepting the fact that listening to a boring lecture for forty minutes with your back straight and eyes open, at times, must have felt like being enclosed in a prison for some of you.

You might not have enjoyed attending the classes. In fact, you might have disliked that teacher who always pestered you for completing the homework and punished you next day in front of the whole class if you didn’t oblige to what he said. You may not have liked the idea of being compared to the topper of your class every time you scored fewer marks. You must have felt that the life after school would be all about fun and unrestricted independence, which you couldn’t enjoy due to the fear of being subjected to disciplinary actions.

However, whether you liked attending the classes or not, you can’t ever forget those beautiful memories with your friends whose very thoughts fill your heart with a feeling of nostalgia hard to overcome. Those walls of the classroom where you had scribbled the pet names of your friends to tease them will always remain very close to your heart. No matter how many reprimands you might have got from your teachers for some or other reason, one teacher must be your favourite for whom you still have very high regards and occasionally you miss his words of wisdom.

As during School Days, devouring your food in the lunch-break and taking one bite from your friend’s lunch box even without asking him; taking the permission from the teacher to go to toilet but coming back after making your way through every corridor possible hoping to the bell be rung; participating in different competitions and going to various school tours; wishing a teacher to be absent if you didn’t complete the homework; first time a teacher lauded you in front of the whole class; the girl/boy in your school you had a crush on or rather whose name your friends used to tease you; experimenting in the labs even if you may not have any idea as to why the chemicals react in a certain way.

I could go on to count many more if I could mention all of them. Undoubtedly, besides the important role school days plays in nurturing and shaping in one’s life, it will always remain special in the hearts of each and every one of us for creating memories we create in the formative years of our lives.
