Pro Kabaddi 2018 Match 44: UP Yoddha versus Tamil Thalaivas

The 44th match of Pro Kabaddi 2018 was held between the Tamil Thalaivas and the team of UP Yoddha. This match was the start of the home leg for the UP Yoddha. A win in this match would help them ascend to the top of Zone B. The Tamil Thalaivas had just 2 wins out of their 8 matches. So, this was a crucial juncture for them as well.

Manjit Chillar was the first one to score. He benched Prashant Kumar Rai in his first raid. Ajay Thakur had a successful raid as well. This helped ensure that the Thalaivas would possess a lead from the start of the match. In less than 3 minutes of the Pro Kabaddi 2018 match, the UP Yoddha captain, Rishank Devadiga was sent to the bench as well. As a return favour, UP Yoddha super tackled Jasvir. They wanted to make sure that they didn’t face an all-out.

But they were not able to achieve that desire. The in-form Thalaivas inflicted the first all-out of the night at 7 minutes into the match. The scoreboard read 1-10 in favour of the Thalaivas. The match was very one-sided at this point.

UP Yoddha tried to make a comeback. They sent Ajay Thakur to the bench. But this attempt of theirs was cut short as well. Sukesh Hedge dived in and inflicted the second all-out of the night. His was a five-point super raid. The scoreboard read 7-22, in favour of the Thalaivas with a massive 15 point lead.

After halftime, the Thalaivas played a patient game. 10 minutes into the game and only 2 men were left on the Yoddha side. When 5 minutes were left in the game, the score difference was still 15 points. It was quite impossible for the Yoddhas now. With 50 seconds left on the clock, the Thalaivas inflicted a 3rd all-out on the already humiliated UP Yoddha.

With a 22 point victory, the Thalaivas are back in Pro Kabaddi 2018.
