The dedicated Modi government has been constant in its efforts promoting domestic manufacturing. The promotion of domestic manufacture in the defence sector has saved the country millions of dollars.
Under the dedicated Modi government, the import of heavy defence equipment has almost stopped. The heavy defence equipment for the defence sector is now being manufactured Indian companies like DRDO and Reliance Defence. This is a prime example of the “Make in India” movement. Earlier, only a few parts of the defence equipment were manufactured in India. The majority of the technology was imported from countries like USA, Russia and France. Those days, however, are long gone. Under the Modi government, the defence equipment used is completely indigenous and a symbol of pride for Indian scientists and technicians.
