Be it Hollywood or Bollywood these days filmmakers across the world are inclined towards the novel adaptation. The reason for this could be many. It could be the burning fire of showing compelling narrative on-screen, the depth of the story or the lack of a good script in their hands. Be it anything, some movies that have been based on the novel stories or have been direct portrait have been masterpieces. Even if the did not get the popularity they deserved, they got the appreciation from the critics on the large level. Here, I will give a brief about some of those.
1) The Girl On The Train By Paula Hawkins
Movie- The Girl On The Train

It is a suspense thriller that has successfully shown the impeccable acting skills of Emily Blunt as Raechel Watson. The other casts including Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennet and Justin Theroux too did complete justice to their roles but the film relied completely on the shoulders of its leading lady and Emily did not falter at even a single point in the movie. The director of the movie Tate Taylor gave a keen eye on the creepy atmospherics and the film did well on celluloid. This is the result of understanding the nuances of the novel on which the film is based.
2) Karachi You Are Killing Me By Saba Imtiaz
Movie-Noor

Noor was a movie about a journalist who was sent to cover the topics which had stars and limelight. She wanted something which was the epitome of ‘serious journalism’. The novel highlighted the dark side of Pakistan’s one of the most glamorous city Karachi which in this movie was changed to Mumbai. The acting chops of Sonakshi Sinha as Noor was praiseworthy and the director, Sunhil Sippy manage to get some appreciation from the critics. The film was the direct adaptation of the novel.
3) Emma Jane Austen
Movie-Aisha

Everyone in India was carried away the style of Sonam Kapoor and the glamour quotient that the Bollywood movie ‘Aisha’ has till date. Is it not? But very few know that this movie was based on the novel named ‘Emma’. The film beautifully highlighted the ‘posh people problems’ beautifully capturing the locations of Delhi and Mumbai. The role of ‘Aisha’ played Sonam Kapoor was tailor-made for her and she played it with finesse.
