Asia Cup 2018 India Beat Pakistan – India Alive

India defeated Pakistan 8 wickets in the group A match of Asia cup 2018. India will now face Bangladesh in the next match. India chased a modest target of 163 in 29 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma managed to score a half-century with the support of opener Shikhar Dhawan. Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik led India across the winning line and remained not out. Bhuwaneshwar Kumar was the man of the match for picking three wickets. Although the Asia Cup, 2018 held at Dubai International Stadium in the United Arab Emirates was a much-anticipated match between the arch-rivals, India and Pakistan because the teams faced each other for the first time since the ICC Champions Trophy, 2017.

Pakistan’s Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and decided to bat first. ’’Will bat first. Looks like a good batting pitch. Hope to get runs and put them under pressure. Same team. Have to score 280 plus”, he said. India made two changes to its team replacing Shardul Thakur and Khaleel Ahmed with Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya. Pakistan openers Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman were on the strike and score 2/0 in the 1 st over of Asia cup 2018. MS Dhoni caught the ball behind the wicket as Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was on the bowling end of Imam-ul-Haq at 2/1.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar strikes again and gets another Pakistan Opener Fakhar Zaman for a duck. 100 came up for Pakistan in 26.3 overs against India. Babar Azam was Pakistan’s top scorer with 47 runs but Kuldeep Yadav’s googly does for him in
47 runs. The only loss India bore was all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s acute lower back injury. Manish Pandey was on the field as his substitute. The first six of the innings came from Indian Captain Rohit Sharma at Usman Khan’s bowling.

Credit should be given to Indian bowlers for their clinical
performance. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah were wonderful with the new ball. They put the right amount of pressure
on the batsmen and especially the openers.
All in All, the Asia cup 2018 match between India-Pakistan was the
most awaited one in the multi-nation tournament. India has had a
good history in the Asia Cup tournaments since 1984. Pakistan has won five out of 11 matches; one match being abandoned due to heavy rainfall.
