Horrific Hyderabad twin blasts, Justice Served After 11 Years
The Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Court Judge (in-charge) T. Srinivas Rao sentenced Tarik Anjum to life imprisonment in the same case. Tarik had been declared a convict earlier the same day for sheltering perpetrators of the horrific Hyderabad twin blasts. Tarik had also harboured Indian Mujahideen chief Riyaz Bhatkal and his brother Iqbal Bhatkal in New Delhi.
Anik Syeed and Akbar Ismail are from the Maharashtrian town of Pune while Tarik is a trained civil engineer from New Delhi but a native of Bihar. The Bhatkal brothers hail from Karnataka and a third accused at large Amir Reza Khan is a native of Bihar. The Bhatkal brothers and Amir Reza have not been arrested yet and are suspected to be taking shelter in Pakistan.
It is amusing how people from different states of India forgot boundaries and got together to plan the horrific Hyderabad twin blasts and how our “favourite” neighbour is dedicated to sheltering half of them. Mohammad Sadiq Israr Shaik and Farooq Sharfuddin Tarkash had also been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the horrific Hyderabad twin blasts but were acquitted due to lack of evidence. They, however, remain in jail facing other charges in some cases in Maharashtra.
Gandam Gurumurthy, the lawyer for Aneek Syeed in a statement to news agency ANI said that “This is a very weak judgement. We will appeal in High Court against this,” A horrific crime was committed, only half the suspects were arrested, only half of them were acquitted due to lack of evidence against the others and then their lawyer has plans for challenging the decision of the judge in a higher court. Indian Judicial really does make sure that no one is ever falsely acquitted.
