Rape survivor was raped on the run Maharashtra police officer
A rape survivor was raped a 34-year old police sub-inspector. He is on the run after being booked for blackmailing and raping the rape survivor. He was investigating her case last year.
His name is Rohan Ganjari. He is posted with the Kongaon police station here. He was handling the case of a 26-year-old woman. She claimed that her boyfriend’s name was added in the rape FIR against her wishes and when she sought that it be removed, Ganjari blackmailed and raped her.
The woman had met Satish, 28, who runs a cellphone shop in Bhiwandi, while on a vacation in her aunt’s house in 2015. Soon they became close. Satish established physical relations after promising marriage. After some time, an earlier girlfriend of Satish, Rabiya, learned about their relationship and threatened her. In her complaint, she said that one day Rabiya called her to her house for discussions.
There, she was served juice with sedatives and was raped a friend of Rabiya while Rabiya recorded the act. Rabiya then began blackmailing her. She demanded Rs 50,000 of her. The rape survivor said that she approached the Kongaon police last year and sought to register an FIR against Rabiya and her friend. But the cops added Satish’s name in the FIR as well. Ganjari arrested him and put him behind bars. Ganjari then demanded sexual favours to remove Satish’s name.
On August 8, the rape survivor was raped Ganjari at a Kalyan lodge. Before that, he made sure he had her signature on a statement saying she had a physical relationship with him her own consent. Ganjari began demanding sexual favours regularly. After being fed up of it, she approached the Kongaon police against Ganjari.
