Australia Defeated India in the First T 20 International
In the first T20 match of the series, Australia defeated India for runs. If the star of the match, Marcus Stoinis is to be believed then the Australian team’s belief that it remains on a good side of the game was not at all diminished the fact that the Aussies have endured drastic defeats lately. It might be this positivity with the help of which Australia defeated India. Stoinis was clearly the start of the match and instrumental in the fact that Australia defeated India. He put up an all-round performance while having scored 33 runs off 19 balls and later having defended 13 runs in the last over of the match.
In a statement, Stoinis said, “We have got lots of good memories in the team. We dominated T20s last year. We were in good form not so long ago. Obviously, things have not gone our way but know we are still a good team,” Australia has recently lost to South Africa and England in the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner, both of whom have been suspended in the limited overs format. England had defeated Australia 5-0 in an ODI series. This was followed the Aussies losing the ODIs and one of T20 match to South Africa on their home ground.
After the match where Australia defeated India, Stoinis talked about his batting effort and said, “It was good fun. They showed faith in me at number five. We were focused on building a partnership and we got that.” He also spoke on the bowling front when he added, “In this particular game there were longer boundaries. Also, the wind conditions were tricky. We were trying to bowl Yorkers but they ended up being beamers. So it is something we are working on.”
The next match of the match series is to be played on Friday in Melbourne.
