Pro Kabaddi 2018 Match 22: Gujrat Fortunegiants vs Puneri Paltan
The 22nd match of Pro Kabaddi 2018 was held between the Gujrat Fortunegiants and the Puneri Paltan. The Giants got their first win of the season in this match. They defeated Puneri Paltan a margin of 34-28.
The match was quite intense. The teams were on a equal standing. At 10 minutes into the second half, the score was 20-20. The tides were turned in the favour of Gujrat when Sachin scored a 4-point Super Raid. They maintained their lead after that. A joint effort from both the attack and the defence helped seal the deal for the Fortunegiants.
Sachin was the star player of the Fortunegiants. He scored 12 points. This included 3 tackle points. He literally carried his team forward in the Pro Kabaddi 2018 match. K Prajanjan, on the other hand, did not give his best performance. He managed to score only 3 raid points from 11 raid attempts.
Ajay Kumar came in as a substitute. He scored 6 raid points, including a Super Raid. He supported Sachin quite effectively. Parvesh Bhainswal managed to score 4 tackle points. He was the best out of the 5 starting defenders.
Puneri Paltan did not offer a team performance or effort. It seemed like a 2-man game for them. The team heavily depended on Nitin Tomar and Girish Ernak. They were the only ones to showcase a good performance. The rest of the team failed miserably.
Nitin Tomar has been the most consistent raider throughout this season. He has scored a total of 64 raid points from 5 matches. His average score is an amazing 12.8 raid points per match. He was great in this match as well. He scored another Super-10 with his 13 raid points from 16 raid attempts.
In the defence, team captain, Girish Ernak seemed to be the lone performer. He scored 6 out of the total 7 team tackle points. He also got 2 brilliant super tackles.
If Gujrat continues this performance throughout Pro Kabaddi 2018, they will surely be able to perform well. Consistency is seeming to be the driving factor which is both pulling back and pushing teams forward.
