7th Pay Commission: Hike for central employees in a week

The Central Government employees and retirees have been waiting for a hike of Rs 8,000 in minimum pay and an increase of 3.68 times in fitment factor beyond 7th Pay Commission recommendations. They are likely to hear a good news next week.

The announcement might be made Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 5 days. The most probable day is 15th August – Independence Day. Earlier on Saturday, the Maharashtra Government had announced that its employees will get increased salary under 7th Pay Commission. It will take effect from January 2019.

the Maharashtra government employees on Thursday ended their 3-day strike which began on August 7over various demands including implementation of the 7th Central Pay Commission. Around 17 lakh Class-3 and Class-4 employees of Maharashtra government withdrew the stir on Thursday after receiving positive assurances from the state administration.

In a similar announcement, the Haryana Government, last week as per 7th Pay Commission, had approved the pay scale recommendations to the teaching and non-teaching staff of government universities, government colleges and government aided colleges with effect from January 1, 2016. The decision will benefit teaching and non-teaching staff working on 2,853 posts in various universities and colleges. It will put an additional burden of Rs 230.6 crore annually on the state exchequer.

Meanwhile, the members of All India Station Masters’ Association (AISMA) is currently on a 24-hour hunger strike. This was called on Saturday. It was over alleged discrimination in the 7th Central Pay Commission or 7th CPC implemented the government.

The strike called the All India Station Masters’ Association (AISMA) over Seventh Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission) implementation. It comes two days after the Maharashtra government employees ended their 3-day strike which began on August 7. The employees had launched a strike over various demands. These include implementation of the 7th Central Pay Commission or 7th CPC report.

The government might finally give cognizance to the plight of the people and help them economically and financially.
